Dear Dumbass,

I feel sorry for you, truly I do. You consider yourself a celebrity? Really? I remember watching you perform at Sunway Lagoon during the height of your ‘success’ seven years ago and I felt nothing but pity. You, up on stage, telling the crowd to sing along with you, and nothing. No one moved. No one danced. No one sang. And it’s not because Malaysians don’t speak English dumbass, it’s because nobody cared to know the lyrics to your one and only hit single. It was the lamest set I have ever watched. The crowd all hung back and talked throughout your performance, waiting for it to end.

When the team was told you were coming last year to perform, nobody knew who you were. Once we were told, nobody cared. I don’t know which is worse. You offered to come to our country and perform for free. Seriously. Desperate much? And still we welcomed you with open arms. Picked you up from the airport. Paid for your accommodation. Looked after you. Brought you around. Treated you like a friend. You tagged along to parties. When introduced to others, nobody knew you were an ‘artist’.

A few months ago you start emailing us that you are planning to come back to Malaysia, asking us to help get you gigs, to promote your music. And we did. Not as a station, but personally, using personal contacts. Every club we contacted turned you down. Who the fuck is that? Was the common response.

We still played your music. Spoke about you. Spoke to you. Explained to listeners who the fuck you are. Built you a fanbase from our existing one. And this is how you treat us? You arrogant piece of crap. You think you’re a somebody? You think you matter? You actually think you have an image to protect? Your music video was released over 3 months ago, you haven’t even hit 95,000 views. Our music video has been out for 3 days, we have over 600,000 views and it’s increasing by the tens of thousands every few minutes. It would have been the biggest project you’ve ever been a part of. But you can keep your precious ‘image’ and stfu. Go ‘collaborate’ with other people. See how that works out for you.
