This Is What It Takes To Love A Single Parent

It takes a special kinda man to fall in love with a single mother of two, and I’m sure it wasn’t easy becoming a husband and father overnight but you did it anyway.

Getting choked up the first time the little one called you “Ayah” long after you already called him your son, stressing out alongside me when every school we approached rejected the big one because of his autism, bursting with pride whenever the boys did something awesome, breaking up fights, cuddling away booboos, helping with homework after work (and during work), and always remembering their favourite everything.

And then the baby girl arrived and you love all three with even more moreness (because it’s early and I’m sleep deprived and I can’t think of the word 😛)

I don’t celebrate Father’s Day but I will celebrate you, Mr Ninja, each and every day for as long as I live insha’Allah <3

May your life always be as filled with love as our bed is every morning!
