Three years ago we had our first family holiday to Langkawi when Ayub was 1…
A Relaxing Evening At Yellow Beach Cafe At Pantai Cenang, Langkawi
Yellow Beach Cafe at Pantai Cenang is hidden away along the super touristy Jalan Pantai Cenang. Right up on the beach. It’s really cute, very yellow, super Instagrammable, and ridiculously pricey.
Definitely rich tourist pricey. So we ordered the cheapest things they had haha.
The menu is simple and Western with pizzas and surf & turf
I honestly didn’t take any pictures of the food. I don’t know why. Too hungry maybe.
Sulaiman and I had a pizza each, while Mr Ninja ate a burger, and Ayub had something. I don’t remember what. Probably a chicken burger.
I know he wanted to order some grilled prawns, because he loves prawns. But the dish was close to RM90 without tax so…
He had chicken instead.
This is my pizza. I can’t for the life of me remember what was in it. But it was good.
The decor is laid back beach vibes, artsy fartsy surfer style, and loads of yellow
Beanbags on the beach, swings and hammocks, and a huge second floor balcony where you can enjoy a stunning view.
The best part of Yellow Beach Cafe is its location right on the beach
Pantai Cenang is probably the prettiest beach I’ve seen in a long time. The sand is so fine and soft. Just gorgeous. Really nice to walk on.
Aisha fell asleep in the car on the way to the restaurant and slept the whole time. She missed the beach, dinner, everything. You can see Yellow Beach Cafe behind us.
When we were here, it was around two weeks before COVID-19 became serious in Malaysia, and before the Movement Control Order (MCO) was announced.
So the island of Langkawi was pretty empty. Very few tourists. No Chinese nationals at all. Even so, Pantai Cenang was bustling with humans. So I can imagine during normal days it would be packed, and during peak season, you’d probably not want to go there.
In any case, we were fortunate to be there when we were. And everything was juuuuust right.
The boys loved the beach. They say it was their favourite part of the holiday.
Before dinner arrived, they were already on the beach, burying each other and getting sand all over themselves.
Look at this sweetheart.
Yellow Beach Cafe faces the sunset, so it’s a must to enjoy a meal or a cool drink while watching the sun go down
I wanted to stay. The boys wanted to stay. The baby had no say. Aisha was asleep so could totally have stayed. Mr Ninja wanted to go back. He’s boring.
It was the baby’s first time on a beach and he was not impressed by sand. Actually, he was totally freaked out by it and refused to put his feet down haha.
Every time the waves came in, all these tiny seashells would come snapping to the surface
It’s a terrible video, I’m sorry, I dunno what I was trying to do. But it was so cool ok.
Anyway, we love Pantai Cenang
Would we eat in Yellow Beach Cafe again? Probably not. The food was alright but not worth the exorbitant prices. If you want to enjoy a drink with a view, then yeah, go for it.
But a meal for four cost us around RM200. So, no. 🙂
