Anak Baba Brickfields Restaurant Food Review

We had an early appointment at Oasis Place for Aisha’s speech delay assessment so we stopped at Anak Baba, a new restaurant across the street, for a quick breakfast. The moment we stepped in, Mr Ninja and I were like waaaaaah… The place is so cute and quaint and pretty.

The Food

Aisha immediately locked on to the gem biscuits on the counter and I bought a cup for RM2.

She says it was “yummi!” Aisha only eats the gems and leaves the biscuit.

The menu is simple, which I love. Not a fan of menus that read like novels. I had the nasi lemak breakfast set that comes with free teh tarik and Mr Ninja had the mee siam with free teh tarik.

It doesn’t look like a big portion, but the dish underneath the paper is pretty huge. My nasi lasted forever. Aisha and I were eating spoonful after spoonful and we never reached the bottom. Super yummy. Perfect grains of plump coconutty rice. Generous helping of ikan bilis WHICH IS SO RARE AND THE BEST PART OF NASI LEMAK. I loved it. The veg too. Mmmm.

Mr Ninja says his mee siam was good.

Here’s an unhelpful pic of the menu:

Price range is around RM6-10.

I like the food. I like the teh tarik. Aisha ate a lot of nasi lemak. She is a fussy pot. This means the nasi lemak is good. Simple Malaysian food made well makes me a happy human.
