I have loved the KL Bird Park since I first brought Ayub there when he…
Animal-Spotting At The Nilufar Pets Carnival In Atria
It just so happened that Mr Ninja and I were discussing last night what adventure to bring the kids on today. My first thought was the KL Bird Park! Mr Ninja said no. He scared of birds. Then I said Butterfly Park! Mr Ninja gave me a glare. I laughed. He’s super scared of butterflies.
So we almost nearly just about settled on Farm in the City. But at the last minute I decided I wanted to be in a nice air-conditioned area so we ended up in Atria lol.
The Nilufar Pets Carnival
Kinda good fortune because Nilufar Pet Store was having a ‘Pet Carnival’ with a petting zoo, fishing area, and other activities in Atria. Plus it was free so… I’m awesome.
Nilufar makes me think of Neelofa.
I’m generally not a fan of animals in captivity and against buying pets at pet stores. Adopt don’t shop and all that. But PAWS was part of the pet carnival with proceeds of sales going towards the shelter, as well as a donation drive happening concurrently. There were cats up for adoption, which made me happy.
If you’d like to adopt, donate, or volunteer at PAWS, you can do so here! They’re lovely people 🙂
Reptiles are my favourite animals
Prepare yourself for some very blurry pictures.
If you watch ‘The Amazing World of Gumball’, this guy looks exactly like Evil Turtle, Gumball’s pet. Also known as ‘Evil Incarnate.’ And for that reason alone I wanted to adopt him. Mr Ninja said no.
Ayub was like, “Mama the red iguana is camouflaged and it’s hiding in front of your eyes!” I swear it took me too long to find this guy.
I think this is a salamander. I like him too.
Sulaiman checking out a green iguana.
I really really really really really like snakes. There was a tiny white one with red eyes that was SO CUTE. He was a few hundred bucks. Slim and pretty and Mr Ninja said no.
I have wanted a tortoise since FOREVER. The boys and I were oohing and aahing over these mini tortoises. They are just adorable! Mr Ninja said no.
Birds are the scariest animals in the world
Even the late Steve Irwin was scared of birds. They are freaky. And I really really don’t like to see them in cages. 🙁 Aisha loves birds. She says, “birt.”
Cockatiels and budgies and parakeets and stuff like that. Aisha like. I don’t like.
I used to have two hamsters and then I had twelve
Because they mated and had babies. RIP Moss and Hermes.
Frogs make weird pets
How do you even handle them? Are they not poisonous? I like the teeny tiny ones that are super colourful. They look like candy. Aisha looked at all the animals like 😐
She only reacted to this orange frog thing. See her mouth like “Ooooh!”
The insects were the coolest
There were a lot of tarantulas and rhinoceros beetles. Just hanging out on the table. Munching on whatever it is they munch on.
I WANT ONE!
My Ninja said no.
Other activities that we didn’t take part in because lazy
There was a fishing pond thing and a rabbit “petting zoo” that made me sad because the bunnies were terrified and I feel like they are totally going to keel over a die of heart attacks by the end of today because there were so many people grabbing them and touching them and carrying them and being noisy and boisterous and inconsiderate but I hope they’re ok and that the pet shop people know what they’re doing and that they actually care for the animals as beautiful living creatures and not just dollar signs.
They had a lucky draw and a fear factor game that I wanted to play but Mr Ninja said no.
Is ok we still have fun looking at animals.
