Ayub’s First Pet Is A Fish Named Fishy That He Won At A Bowling Party

Ayub was invited to a bowling birthday party. I was worried he would have a meltdown or get angry or something bad would happen because he is so competitive and can be such a terrible sport. He’s either a super loser or a sore winner.

Anyway, we discussed it before he went to the party. How to be a gracious winner or loser, that it’s just for fun, don’t so serious, be kind to everyone etc etc.

Three hours later he came home with a big smile holding a fishtank and a fighting fish for having the highest score lol.

Just a few things I wanna say:

1. Ayub kept his cool and had a great birthday party and I worried for nothing woot woot!

2. Ayub didn’t understand the concept of names until he was 5 years old

He called Sulaiman “baby” for five years because Sulaiman was a baby. When a stray cat made our house its home, I asked Ayub to name it and he named it “Cat” because obviously it’s cat. Trying to explain to him that the cat can have its own name, like “Ayub”, caused a meltdown. I suppose names are weird.

Anyway, Cat now lives with my brother and Ayub named his fish, “Fishy.” Instead of “Fish.” I was so proud haha.

3. He’s been very responsible, feeding Fishy every day and cleaning his tank once a week

4. Ayub loves Fishy and is always conscious of his needs

I explained to him that Fishy lives in paddy fields where it’s hot and dark. So Ayub always keeps the curtains at fishy’s side of the room drawn. And when he wants to put the aircon on, he moves Fishy outside to the landing where it’s warm.
