Bayou Lagoon Park Resort Melaka Family Review

I’m lazy to write again so I’m copy pasting what I already wrote from my Melaka itinerary woot woot. I spent around RM600 per night for the 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment with 6 complimentary passes to the water park and free breakfast at Bayou Lagoon Park Resort in Melaka.

We stayed at Bayou Lagoon Park Resort and the manager at the front desk’s bored expression is everything you need to know about this place

Sulaiman says the resort was nice. I think it’s okay. I do not recommend.

You have to take a number and wait for the ding dong on the screen to check in. Feels very governmenty. Not a good feeling.

And then once you check in. They give you this mystery bag. Inside the mystery bag is… a hair dryer and air con remote. Which you have to return when you check out. Because guests keep stealing the hair dryers and air con remotes from the rooms. Lol. Rempit resort. Love it.

We got a three-bedroom two-bathroom apartment. It was nice, lots of space, complete with kitchen and living room and dining area. Nice for families with kids.

Wasn’t terribly clean. Could have used a good vacuum and mop. Hmmm… Felt kinda icky, you know? Wasn’t very cute lah. But ok. YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN?

Anyway, the kids were happy so it’s fine.

The 3-Bedroom 2-Bathroom Apartment

Ignore the mess. Or not. I don’t care.

Size-wise it’s perfect for our family of 6. One master bedroom (not pictured), a second room with a queen bed, and a third with two single beds. There’s a living area, dining area, and kitchen. No stove.

The only thing I wasn’t so into was that it was kinda dirty. Not like filthy. But like it hadn’t been vacuumed and mopped in a long time. A few stains here and there.

Breakfast was in the convention centre

Lol. Mr Ninja said it was like being at a wedding reception. But like, a really sad wedding.

The food was terrible. Bland, tasteless, cold, sad.

The water park was meh

Passes came with the room. The kids loved it, of course. But for adults, I mean, it’s just kinda rempit and not clean at all. There are no lifeguards on duty, no staff to be seen at all. Litter everywhere. The cafes and stuff inside the park were just deserted.

There’s a baby area with water up to your ankles

It’s actually very toddler-friendly with lots of happy splash areas

Uhhhh… I’m happy we went but we’ll never go back again. Sunway Lagoon forever.

I don’t know how it has such a high online rating. It kinda sucks. Lots of potential to be great. But I feel like maybe the staff aren’t trained well?

Housekeeping is terrible, rooms are nowhere near clean enough (and I am a messy non-fussy person mmmkay). Front desk staff are kind but not very professional but it’s ok I guess. The yawning manager lmao.

The place itself is just not well maintained.

The food is awful awful awful. We ordered room service one night and the burger was like RM30 and they used a patty that’s lower quality than ramly burgers, you know what I mean? Like it didn’t taste anything like real meat. Just awful.

I love Melaka though.
