I am neither a fan of fish nor noodles, but Mr Fish - Fish Head…
Fish Tacos, Burritos, And Quesadillas From Orale In Damansara Uptown
I was starving and the boys had eaten so I went to Orale in Damansara Uptown, just across from the office, to get a giant burrito. Well, I wanted a giant burrito filled with rice and beans and meat and guacamole and cheese and all that goodness.
But they had fish tacos. And fish tacos sound so good. So I got fish tacos.
The Food
I ordered my fish taco to go. It’s pretty small. Very tasty. Not filling enough for a meal. I would say it’s a snack. Because I’m fat. But I know my kids would not be satisfied with these tacos.
Plus it cost RM16. Which is pretty steep for two small tacos. But it was packed with flavour. Except that some juice kept leaking out of one of the tacos.
I’m not sure what’s inside exactly. Grilled tilapia, pineapple, sour cream, red cabbage, red onion, cilantro, and whatever seasoning. Yeah, it was nice. But I’m super hungry right now and that did not satisfy meeeeeeee… #bottomlesspit
The Menu
I wish I had taken the pulled beef burrito. Man, regrets. I think I have to go back to eat that. I really wanted a burrito. Damn you fish tacos. You always sound so delicious. But you’re just not filling enough. Ugh.
Was very tasty. 10/10 would recommend as an expensive snack.
Food: 3/5 (not enough oomph and portion small for price)
The Ambiance
It’s colourful and Mexican-esque. Empty when I went, but it was late afternoon, not lunch time. It’s cute. Go take cute pictures of yourself there.
Ambiance: 5/5 (super cute and very clean)
The Service
The lady at the counter was super helpful and really friendly because I was so noob and had no idea what was happening. So she explained their menu and made recommendations.
It took longer to make my tacos then it did for me to eat them.
I guess it’s kinda good because they made it fresh? Can’t imagine going to Orale with a big group of people though. Might take forever for everyone to get their food. And then we would all be sad.
Oh, Gowri says when I was on maternity leave a bunch of them from the office went to Orale and ate and it was ok.
Service: 4/5
Final thoughts
It wasn’t mind-blowing, amazing or anything like that. It was nice. It was tasty. It was pricey. Maybe not worth the amount you pay. But then I imagine their overheads are super high. And the fish was delicious. I love fish tacos. I want more fish tacos.
Haih.
I’ll go back for a burrito and update you.
Overall: 4/5
EDIT 10/5/2019: I GOT MY BURRITO!
I ordered the pulled lamb burrito for RM20. Oh, they updated their menu and added some new things (and I think put the prices up).
Anyway, the burrito was ok. It wasn’t the flavour bomb I was hoping it would be. I wanted a big kick of oomph in ma mouth, ya know whadda meaaaan? I didn’t get that.
It wasn’t bad. But it wasn’t great. Feels like too much shredded cabbage, which is flavourless, and not enough mexican goodness. Rice, beans, lamb, sour cream, guac, pico de gallo or salsa, cheese… that’s what I want. It’s not quite what I got.
Still nice though. But yeah. The fish tacos were far superior in taste. Nyum nyum.
