Mr Tuk Tuk at Starling Mall. It's not an everyday place to eat because it's…
Galito’s In eCurve Is Exactly Like Nandos But Not As Tasty
Mr Ninja, Aisha, and I went to Galito’s at eCurve for lunch. It looks and feels like Nandos. But the chicken doesn’t taste as nice. And I don’t even think Nandos tastes that nice anymore. Love Mr Ninja’s -_- face.
The Food
Same as Nandos from like 10 years ago. Quarter chicken or half chicken with one sideline or two sidelines. Choice of lemon & herb, mild, hot, extra hot sauce. Some burgers. Peri this peri that. Coleslaw, fries, rice etc. Kids meals.
Mr Ninja had the extra hot quarter chicken with fries.
I had the mild quarter chicken with sweet potato fries.
Aisha had spaghetti and meatballs with the sauce on the side because she’s picky like that.
Chicken was alright. A little bit overcooked but not too dry. The sauce was alright too. Maybe we’re just so used to Nandos that this Peri-Peri didn’t have the right kick. The fries were really tasteless and sad though.
Aisha’s spaghetti was mushy and overcooked. The chicken balls were ok. That meal was not worth RM14.
Here’s the best part of the meal – Aisha’s chocolate ice cream:
It was really chocolatey and yummy. Aisha says, “aishkim yesh!”
Here’s a blurry pic of the menu:
Price range is around RM16-RM25 (ish).
It’s boring. Not bad, but boring. Just tastes like a boring version of Nandos. I wouldn’t mind it if it wasn’t so pricey. I’m not paying RM25 per person for boring chicken that wants to be Nandos. I might as well just go to Nandos. Naw mean?
FOOD: 2.5/5
The Ambiance
It’s cute. I think it’s going to close down soon because 1. it’s in eCurve and nobody goes to eCurve and 2. we went the weekend before CNY at lunch time when the malls were packed and this place was empty with just one mat salleh family and us. 3. the food is boring. But, the restaurant itself is cute.
Know who else is cute? Aisha and Mr Ninja.
AMBIANCE: 5/5
The Service
The staff are very friendly and nice. The food came out quite fast. They were helpful and well-trained.
But. One of the waiters came up to Aisha while she was eating her spaghetti and put his face up close to hers and started touching her arm and asking her if she liked the food. I really hate it when strangers touch my kids. Wtf. You wouldn’t go up to a random adult and start rubbing their arms and putting your face next to theirs to ask them if they were enjoying their meal. Don’t fucking do that to kids. It’s weird and uncool.
Aisha was like wtf dude get the fuck off me and Mr Ninja and I were like don’t touch our kid.
So just for that I’m going to rate the service…
SERVICE: 0/5 (but ok, the service is good and deserves a 5 but don’t touch people’s children please)
Final Thoughts
It’s ok lah. But we’re never going back because the chicken is meh and the price is no. We’ll just stick to Nandos thanks. I feel like eating Nandos now.
