I LOVE DIM SUM. I love food in general. But dim sum is my favourite.…
Halal Dim Sum From Dolly Dim Sum Because Dim Sum Is The Best
I thought I wrote my review of Dolly Dim Sum ages ago but apparently I didn’t. So here we are. Dolly Dim Sum offers authentic Chinese dim sum that’s halal. Yum yum!
I consider it pretty pricey, definitely not an everyday food for us, as much as I would love to eat Dolly Dim Sum every day. Huhu. I ordered Dolly Dim Sum via Grabfood for Mr Ninja and I during MCO, and it came up to almost RM100 for five orders of dim sum? And tbh it wasn’t really enough for us.
Anyhoo, the restaurant we went to was at The Curve, Mutiara Damansara.
The Food
We ordered a variety of steamed dim sum and fried dim sum, as well as noodles, fried rice, porridge, and my personal fave – loh mai gai mmmm.
Everything was delicious. I don’t think there was anything I didn’t like.
The only mistake was that I ordered too many things with prawns. And it ended up tasting to similarly prawny. You know what I mean? But every prawn was tender and juicy and yums. Just that there was A LOT of them haha.
The Food: 5/5
The Menu
The prices are small and the pics are blurry haha. But I would say the dim sum is around RM7-10. It’s pretty expensive right? I think it’s expensive haha.
To be clear, we’ve only ever eaten here once. And I think our bill was like RM200+? So yeah. Special occasions only for us.
The Ambiance
Light and bright and spacious. Very pretty.
Ambiance: 5/5
The Service
I honestly don’t remember because we ate here a year ago. But I suppose I don’t remember it being bad? Hmm… The food came nice and hot. We ordered a lot so it came all over the place. But I don’t mind that.
Service: 4/5
Final Thoughts
Lovely dim sum treat for a special occasion. Unless you’re a normal person who just eats a lil bit of dim sum and doesn’t order a huge buffet like me, then you can eat on normal occasions too. Haha.
I feel like there aren’t that many options for really good halal dim sum, so this is my first choice.
Other places tend to be at hotels and are even more expensive.
The lower end halal dim sum tend to be bought frozen, and then steamed/fried to order. You know? I’m thinking like Pappa Rich lol. It’s nowhere near as delicious as fresh dim sum from Dolly.
Overall: 4.5/5
