There are so many hipster brunch places in KL that they're all pretty much the…
Kedai Kopi Malaya In Damansara Uptown
I think I’m the only person in my office that like Kedai Kopi Malaya or Malaya Cafe, which goes to show how bad my taste in everything is, I guess???
I dunno. I thought it was nice. Everybody else can go suck it.
It’s so cute and modern old school. You know what I meaaannn?
The Food
Really simple food, which is always the best. I like menus that are only one page with just a handful of things that are made well.
Most people don’t like Kedai Kopi Malaya because they say the food isn’t made well but… I LIKE IT OK.
Danial had this nasi lemak:
I had assam laksa:
Jeremy ordered samosas:
And Gowri had roti bakar:
Thanks for eating everything before I had a chance to take a picture, Gowri, you dummy.
The Menu
OHHHHHH!!! Now I think I remember why nobody likes this place. It’s because it’s expensive y’all. I mean, not like super expensive. But for such basic dishes, yeah RM13.90 for assam laksa is pretty expensive. Oh well. The place looks pretty though.
The Ambiance
Fake old and very cute.
The Service
I don’t recall. I guess it must have been ok if I don’t remember it being bad?
Pictures of stupid Gowri, Official Unpaid Ninja Ambassador
I don’t remember why she is pouting. I assume it’s probably about something stupid like the fact that it’s raining and we need to be back in the office to work but she says she can’t walk in the rain because she thinks she will fall sick even though May Vin has already clarified that you can’t fall sick from walking in the rain. AND SHE HAS A MEDICAL DEGREE GOWRIIIIIIII.
Final thoughts
We went there once and enjoyed it and have never been back since.
