I absolutely LOVE A Pie Thing in Damansara Uptown. They serve up the best pies. Fat, compact, full of flavour, and topped with mushy peas, mashed potato, and gravy. Mmmmm!

The only reason I don’t eat it so often if because it’s a long walk away from the office and it’s close to RM20 🙁

 

The Food

A good assortment of pies! Meat pies and vegetarian pies. Plus dessert pies. All pies. Many pies. A Pie Thing. I love pie.

Cheesy chicken, Thai basil chicken with egg, hell’s chicken, creamy spinach, chunky steak, cheesy BBQ chicken, masala butter chicken, and much much more!

I have two favourite pies. The first is the pulled lamb. It is SO DELICIOUS. Meaty and juicy and good. Chunks of carrots and other stuff inside. The second is the creamy spinach pie. Mmmm… with cauliflower and pumpkin inside. I think. I don’t know. But it tastes delicious.

I think Esther had some curry chicken thing with no mash because she’s a sad person.

And Gowri had this steak pie with no mushy peas because she is also a sad person.

AND THE DESSERT PIES!

Sorry my pictures are ugly. There was this one time me and Gowri had a meat pie each and afterwards we were like DESSERT PIE and Julie was like why don’t you guys get one to share and we were like NOH WE WANT ONE EACH so we got one each like Gowri took the lavender creme brulee and I took the lemon curd and we both super suffered trying to finish it because we were so full and the dessert pies are super rich and decadent and so good even the crust tastes amazing.

They have new savoury and sweet pies all the time, plus special edition pies. So there’s always good stuff to look forward to. Or you can be predictable like me and order the same thing over and over and over again.

The menu

It depends what pies are available on the day. But there are the staples. And the specials. Don’t go so late otherwise your favourite will be sold out.

You can choose what to put on top of your pie at different price points. I always got for the full mashacre of mushy peas and mashed potato and gravy because yolo. The Mashacre with no drink costs RM17.90.

Eh, hipsterish? I dunno. It’s nice. Like dark and cementy and minimalist. I dunno. It’s aight.

Order at the counter and pay, then they’ll bring you your PIE. They’re always really friendly and helpful and cool.

Final Thoughts

I like pie. I like the crust I like the inside I like the top bottom and everything. Pie.
