Review: A Very Hot Afternoon At The Secret Garden On 1 Utama’s Rooftop
Ayub and Mr Ninja had gone away for a camping trip and my niece Miss T had come to stay for the weekend. So we went to the Secret Garden on 1 Utama’s Rooftop. I don’t know much about plants. Like, at all. I know nothing. Except that they’re pretty and I like them a lot. So don’t expect a tour or names of flowers or nice pictures or anything like that.
This is just a dumping ground for pictures of pretty things mmmkay?
The Secret Garden @ The Rooftop, 1 Utama
Admission is free yay! The first time we came here was for Ayub’s school trip with ActonKL. I think he was learning about botany or something. We had a guide to bring us for a tour that time. I think that’s free as well? But you have to book a tour. Or maybe it was paid. I don’t know. Google it.
We went up to the rooftop, registered our names at the counter, and entered for free.
The First Part – because I don’t know what any of the zones are called
There are a number of zones, each zone specialises in a type of plant. Like the one below was on cactuses.
It was SUPER hot ok. We went there at lunch time. Don’t go during the afternoon. Unless you don’t mind the heat. I actually don’t mind the heat. And it’s kinda guaranteed to be empty too. But it’s really really very hot. Bring lots of water.
Aisha little dumpling child with eyes too round for her head
There seriously nothing more intriguing than watching a toddler explore. Aisha ran circles all over the Secret Garden. Taking pauses here and there to touch leaves and stare at flowers. So cute small girl.
Some water feature thingies that got the kids excited
I wanna say that there were fish or something in there but I literally cannot remember at all.
Sulaiman looking handsome and thoughtful
I love my boys. They’ve been inseparable since Sulaiman was born. But a lot of that is because Ayub is special and requires constant supervision (and because I’ve never trusted anyone to look after him). Since Mr Ninja is around and can chaperone on camping trips, Sulaiman finally gets to spend time sans big bro.As much as they love (and fight and play and fight) each other, I think it’s very liberating for him.
Also, he’s so cute and fun to talk to.
The Second Part – it’s shadier and much nicer I like it here
There’s this doorway thing made out of these dangly plant things and the people have to trim it a lot to make it cute like that. I did not pay attention during the tour.
Lots of little winding paths to explore with so much green to enjoy! Tiny ones will love walking the paths. Thankfully Miss T is the most loving, patient person in the world. So she followed Aisha everywhere she wandered while I sat on a bench in the shade and ignored them all for the most part.
All the paths lead to this middle bit. What would you call it? I have no idea. Imma say shady middle bit with all the benches.
Some random pictures of pretty flowers because why not
The Last Part – a weird little tunnel that leads to a nursery I think
There were fruits and veg growing around us. But I couldn’t get anymore pictures because Aisha was really exhausted by this point and ready for her milk and a nap.
Final Thoughts
Definitely a really nice place to visit, especially with little ones. Go in the evening when it’s not so hot. Plenty of places to take cute pictures. Love it. Because it’s free.
