Set Brunch And The Organic Market At Yin’s Sourdough Bakery & Cafe In Damansara Uptown
The turnover rate for restaurants in Damansara Uptown is super high. So this new place opened up and I can’t remember what it used to be, but now it’s Yin’s Sourdough Bakery and Cafe.
It’s healthy or something. Me and Gows got sucked in by the sourdough part. We like bread. A lot.
The Food
The food was really tasty and filling and I’m not sure why we haven’t gone back. Maybe it was expensive. I don’t remember. The company paid for everything so we didn’t feel the pinch haha.
They served drinks in this super lame and dated martini glass.
We ordered carrot cake straightaway because carrot cake is the best and we ate it all and it was yummy and moist and good. But it had grated raw carrots on the top which is so weird.
We all took the set lunch and got to choose between a salad and soup. Only Jeremy took the salad and I thought it looked really sad.
My soup, on the other hand, was awesome. I think it was pumpkin. It was yummeh. And the bowl was really big! Much too big for a starter but I’m not complaining. I loved it.
There was this bangers and sweet potato mash kinda dish. I wish I had ordered this. It was good. But it was not mine. Sad.
Jeremy had this weird open-faced sandwich thing.
I had this salmon pasta thing. It was too fishy for me. I couldn’t finish it. I’m not a fish person. I wanted the grilled vegetable and mushroom pasta. But they ran out of the dish. So I had this instead. It was fishy.
The menu
The food was decent. Kinda on the more expensive side of things. But I guess they use healthier, organic (?) ingredients. Maybe. I’m not sure. It was nice. I’m still disappointed I didn’t get to have my vegetarian pasta. Ugh, why did I order fish.
Price range is around RM12 – RM20.

The Bakery
Considering they are a bakery, the quantity of their baked goods were pretty low. I mean, the display looked quite sad lah.
We ordered some sourdough bread to share. It was great. Yeah.
The market
There’s an organic market on the other side of the cafe with very expensive, pretty things. From detergent and soap to pasta and fresh produce.
I will never buy any of these things. But I like to look at all the things.
The Ambiance
It’s like industrial chic.
Do you love my new scarf? It has day of the dead skulls all over it. I love it. Mr Ninja got it for me as an anniversary gift. I love him.

The Service
Service was ok. I guess because they are still new, they haven’t quite got the hang of things yet? Our sourdough bread took forever to arrive. We had to ask a few times and remind a few times for things to get moving.
But there were quite a few of us eating that day so the order was pretty big.
On the whole, I thought they were good.

Final Thoughts
Yeah. It was good. Not great. I should go back just to buy bread. But their bread doesn’t really look so appealing? They need to do something about their display.
