The Parenthood Playground At Sunway Putra Mall Review
So, many months ago, I organised a Ninja Playgroup. Something fun and inclusive for all kids, and an opportunity for parents to hang out and talk and like, ya kno, support and understand and not judge one another.
Go like my Facebook page for updates like this if you wanna join in future:
Anyway, the first Ninja Playgroup was held at The Parenthood in Sunway Putra Mall
I like Sunway Putra Mall because it’s autism-friendly. I don’t really like The Parenthood because it’s not very child-friendly. The pictures look nicer than it really is 🙁 But we still had fun anyway.
It was so cool to meet other families and chit chat and just hang out with people going through the same things as us. Thank you guys for coming all the way (some as far as Seremban woot woot!)
I should plan another get together. Soon. Maybe. I lazy. Let’s talk about The Parenthood.
The Parenthood in Sunway Putra Mall looks nice from the outside
On the inside it’s kinda one of the worst indoor playgrounds we’ve been to. And we’ve been to a lot!
There are only two people working there and they just sit at the front desk. Nobody is in the play areas. Zero supervision. No help. The service was really awful. And the place was kinda falling apart.
I’m glad we went on Tuesday where entrance is free for families of autism. Otherwise, I would definitely not spend any money to enter. Maybe on weekends they have more staff and it’s better???
The place is still falling apart inside though. Sad. Lots of potential to be amazing.
Here’s what is inside The Parenthood:
1. This slide at the entrance
2. This slide into a ball pit
3. The ball pit
4. This chill out area playing movies
Why are there two TVs next to each other, you ask? I don’t know. The whole place is not planned out very well.
This is supposed to also be the area where kids can play PS4 but there was no PS4. It’s also supposed to be the bean bag area but the few bean bags they had, had no beans.
5. I don’t know what this is
6. Slide
7. Adorable
8. I take the best pictures
9. A lot of things were broken and dangling and dangerous AF
10. Trampoline
Can you tell I’m getting tired of writing already. How am I a blogger omg. I need a new hobby.
11. More slides
12. Completely unattended climbing wall
Aisha was the only one to reach the top. Then she freaked the fuck out because there was no way for her to come down. Because there is no one working there. And no harness. I don’t know. This place is a dump lol. But Aisha is a champion.
13. This sad ass area
Lame.
14. The Nerf gun area that had no Nerf guns
Lamer.
15. Really really depressing rooms with broken and dirty toys
Lamest.
16. I imagine this place was super awesome when it first opened then it just got shit haha
It’s just a bunch of sad empty space now.
17. No one even mans the area so I have no idea if this even works
18. A room of tiny tables and chairs and nothing to play with. I assume it’s the party room?
But it looks so sad. I hope it’s not the preschool they keep harping on about.
19. Ok, I’m starting to sound too bitchy. Sorry The Parenthood. It could be worse.
20. The kids still enjoyed the playground area
21. Aisha liked whatever toys there were that weren’t broken
22. And the place was pretty much deserted, which is always nice for me
Yup, that’s about it.
The whole place needs a good scrub, replacement of parts and whatever else is broken, just a general revamp.
10/10 do not recommend
Unless you have that blue autism wristband from Sunway Putra Mall, in which case you can go have fun for free on Tuesdays.
The Parenthood facilities (from their website lol):
- Indoor playground with castle theme (only good thing, but still run down with dangerous areas)
- Party rooms
- Mini trampoline
- Flying fox (total oversell lol)
- Tunnels and bridges
- Climbing wall
- Climbing tower
- Strive zone (dafuq)
- Multiple slides
- Ball pit
- Foam-padded flooring and columns
- Xbox 360 game console play zone (doesn’t exist)
- Free Wi-Fi Action cameras are designed to develop the kids’ motor and social skills, creative thinking, and self-confidence. (wat.)
It says it’s RM59 per child online. Please, my god, do not pay that much to go here. Not the Sunway Putra Mall one. Maybe the other branches are nicer.
Ok. I’m probably going to get banned from The Parenthood forever now. Love u all bye.
