Here’s my review of Legoland Malaysia Water Park!

Quick tips to a happy water park experience:

  • Bring your own water bottle and snacks
  • Bring your own towels
  • Spend the whole day there, it’s fun!
  • Reapply sunscreen throughout the day, it’s super hot and bright
  • Hang out at the Beach Grill on the upper level, not the Brick Cafe (it’s much more spacious and windy
  • Don’t bother with floaties, Legoland provides very cute life jackets for toddlers, kids, and adults
  • The water park has become kinda run down, lots of things broken and out-of-service 🙁
  • Just FYI, this is a very family-friendly park, it’s generally geared towards kids and not so much for adults i.e. if you don’t have kids and go on your own you’ll probs be bored af

1. It is notoriously hot at Legoland Malaysia

I guess it’s the lack of trees, shade, and outdoor fans. Sunway Lagoon deals with the heat really well. Somehow it’s not soooo uncomfortably hot there. Probably because they have lots of trees, shade, outdoor fans, and giant hotels all around the park providing more shade.

Anyway.

Behold Ibrahim the Chonk in all his it’s-too-damn-hot glory:

I love his little fan

PRO TIP: They don’t check your bags when you enter Legoland Water Park, so bring your own bottles of water, snacks, and even lunch

They do check your bags before you enter Legoland Theme Park so you can’t bring your own water bottle there 🙂

I didn’t bring water bottles from home. We had to buy mineral water there.

  • 1 small bottle of mineral water = RM4
  • 1 small bottle of soda = RM6

Bring your own drinks.

2. Walk past the theme park to reach Legoland Water Park

This is the hotel entrance I think. Last I checked, one night at the Legoland Resort is around RM900. Lmao. If Mr Ninja wasn’t from Johor Bahru, we would never come visit Legoland. I’m sure the hotel is nice. The pictures look awesome with the themed rooms and all but… RM900 a night for one room?? Oh no. I’m too poor for that.

3. This is the main entrance

They make you pose a bunch of different ways. One of those ways is to hold your finger and your thumb in the shape of an ‘L’ for… Legoland. I dunno what it’s like to grow up in Malaysia but when I was a kid, doing that ‘L’ sign meant something else lol.

4. Aisha once again proves to be the smartest of the family…

Because she wore her swimsuit at home. The boys had to get dressed in the changing room, which took forever. Meanwhile Aisha is bouncing around outside, posing with giant Lego people and playing with bubbles and drinking RM6 iced lemon tea.

5. Ok so this is kinda a useless review because I had to look after this tiny fat fellow who’s too young to be in the pool so I couldn’t swim either

Mr Ninja and the boys usually go to all the big slides while Aisha and I play in the kiddy areas. But because Ibrahim was stuck to me, Mr Ninja had to look after Aisha. So everyone stayed in the kiddy areas.

Blame this boy:

6. Joker Soaker – the water playground

Lots of slides and splashing fun stuff. Great for kids under 12.

7. DUPLO Splash Safari

Perfect for toddlers. Shallow pool with one wide slide, lots of giant lego bricks, and massive Duplo animals spraying water. Very cute. Aisha loved it.

In the afternoon, Mr Ninja fell asleep in the pool. When he woke up, Ayub and Sulaiman had build a gigantic Ayub-sized boat out of every Lego piece they had found. Apparently it was dope.

8. Build-a-Raft was closed

This is supposed to be their lazy river. Mr Ninja could not accept that it was closed. One of the staff said they were renovating. Then he admitted that something was broken so they had to fix it. And that it was supposed to be done by 3pm that day but it was still broken.

When you look in the lazy river, the ground is totally all cracked and damaged. The water was filthy.

First sign that things were not going well in Legoland 🙁

9. Build-a-boat and Imagination Station were both also not working

I should have taken pictures. But both stations are under the hot sun. Anyway, they were broken. Sad. So basically it was just the water playground and the Duplo splash safari.

10. Don’t stay at the Brick Cafe

Nothing wrong with it. But the Beach Grill is better, bigger, cleaner, and has more food options. Brick Cafe is next to the little kiddy stuff. Beach Grill is a level up next to the wave pool.

11. The Lego Wave Pool is blindingly hot

legoland malaysia water park review

They really need to work on adding shade everywhere. This wave pool is totally uncovered. Zero shade. Very bright.

The waves are kinda non-existent. Great for toddlers I suppose. But bigger kids like Ayub and Sulaiman found it a bit boring. They still had fun but there are no giant waves to bob-bob-bob to. Ya know what I mean?

12. The food is more expensive than the usual theme park prices

Theme park/water park food is ALWAYS pricey, but Legoland really makes is far more expensive than I really feel is necessary.

I saw some families actually bring packed lunches. Smart.

RM36 for nasi lemak. Gila ke apa??

13. The food is yummy but not worth that price

I know I know, overheads and high operating costs and all that. I expect to pay more for food in theme parks. But I don’t think it’s even this expensive in Sunway Lagoon?

See the food. What do you think? Is it worth it?

14. There are lots of big slides. I’ll blog about that next time we go mmmkay?

TO BE ADDED DON’T WORRY WE BOUGHT THE ANNUAL PASS WE WILL GO BACK AND I’LL TAKE BETTER PICTURES TOO.

15. The gift shop and stuff

All the Legoland merch you could ever want.
