In case you're a huge fan Prem... Or you have a fetish for chubby hairy Indian…
We Went To RIUH’s Merdeka Weekend And Bought More Artisanal Nonsense
I’m just a sucker for RIUH. I love love love the pop-up market. Especially the brands that sell cutesy Malaysian things. Omg I cannot.
Pantun Pins are my new favourite thing
The last time we went to RIUH, I splurged on the CUTEST MAGNET IN THE WORRRLLLDDD for Rm50. So totally worth it I love it so much. This time I went there to buy a Pantun Pin because LOOOOK:
All pics taken from Pantun Pins Facebook page. Look at crying Najib. Hahahha.
Anyway this is the one I bought. Is it not the cutest thing in the world? It cost RM20 I think.
I love my ABC. I want the Maggi kari one after this hohoho.
As usual the kids went straight for the bubbles the moment we arrived
Mr Ninja bought food. There was a stall that was selling really cheap eats. I think it was something like RM3 for plain chee cheong fun and RM5 for bihun goreng, stuff like that. I didn’t bother taking pictures sorry. But I’ll show you something that was crazy expensive and totally not worth it.
Mom’s BBQ isn’t nearly as yummy as we hoped
I’ve been looking forward to eating this since forever. Finally got the chance. Was SO disappointed. I think it was like RM20 for this. Two small slices of brisket that was honestly really bland and lacking in flavour overall, potato salad, coleslaw, and gravy. Gimme RM3 chee cheong fun any day.
The kids had nasi kerabu with ayam goreng berempah. That was super filling and cheaper than Mom’s BBQ too.
Lots of free activities for cheapskates like me
Since I already blew around RM30 at the market and probably close to RM100 on food (because of the drinks), we were happy to find loads of activities for the kids and us that are free. There are workshops too of course, but you have to register in advance and you have to pay a small fee too.
Behind the pop up market was this area that was dedicated to old school games. And every was free. You only need to register. I’m not sure if we registered. We were super happy to be there haha. The boys played Mortal Kombat.
Aisha found hula hoops.
Mr Ninja and I played with these thingies I forget what it’s called but I call it Mikado.
Mr Ninja taught the little ones how to play eraser.
Ya, so fun.
