Heritage Trail And Baby Elephants At Little India In Singapore

I went on a walking tour of Little India in Singapore without a guide. Just walk, walk, walk and take some pictures. I love the bright colours and the fact that everything is so close by. There are several art installations set up but I only managed to find the elephants.

Here are some pictures of what I saw. If you want more details about these places, you should Google it yourself 😛

1. The Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple

3. The Indian Heritage Centre

I love how they kept the old colonial (?) architecture but gave it all a fresh coat of colourful paint. Everything is so pretty. You know, Malaysia has so much potential… but it’s nowhere near as well looked after. So sad.

4. The Elephant Art Installation

I love this art installation the most! Elephants are the best. Previously it was the umbrella art installation. I wanted to look for the colourful cows too but it was on the other side of Little India and we were too tired after that to go exploring.

5. Mustafa Centre

This place is ridiculous. Mustafa Centre is a 24-hour shopping mall on Syed Alwi Road in Little India. A 24-hour shopping mall, y’all.

It’s a mega huge department store that caters to the budget market. So like, think buying cheap cheap in bulk. There are two shopping centres. One side is jewellery, household appliances, and a supermarket. The other side has books, watches, electronic goods, footwear, toys, clothes. I mean, whatever you want, they will have it here. Including pharmaceuticals.

On top of selling 300,000 items, they also provide foreign exchange and travel arrangements. Aaaaand, there’s a rooftop restaurant called Kebabs ‘n Curries, which is where I had dinner that night.

Sorry I didn’t bother taking many pictures. It was just crazy looking. Floors and floors and shelves upon shelves of stuff. And they have EVERYTHING in bulk. Why buy 1 razor when you can get 100?

Little India, Singapore

All in all, LOVED Little India. So many things to see. Everything is in short walking distance. Although I did take a bus to go to some mall I forget which. And it only cost a few cents.
