Homeschooling During MCO: Making Kid Collages

Aisha actually had to make a collage “About Me” for kindergarten. I thought it was cute. So I made the boys do it too. Hoping it would take a few hours and be enjoyable for them.

And I could do my work in peace.

Instead.

They complained and whined and questioned… why do we have to do this? Why? But why Mama, whyyyyyy…

So annoying. They did it anyway.

Ayub complained the most

He’s very self-conscious about doing “school work.” He’s very hard on himself. Always thinks he’s not smart enough or good enough. Certainly doesn’t help that his little brother is incredibly bright and naturally book smart.

But once he got into it, Ayub got really focused. Choosing his pictures, cutting them out, organising them on his collage.

It was really nice to watch him. I love that boy.

So cute. I guess these are his memories of MCO so far. Oh, and a Nerf gun. I love how organised his poster is. Just the way he likes things. A place for everything and everything in its place.

This sweetheart is excited and happy to try anything

Aisha started the year unable to hold a pencil correctly. In the last 4 months she’s starting the write letters, numbers, drawing and colouring, and using scissors, glue, and tape.

Kids are amazing.

Lollipops, candy, gymnastics, bats, vampires. That’s Aisha. Sugar, spice, and creepy things.

I especially like how she stacked images on top of images on top of images. Such dimension. Much art.

This boy took the longest because he always puts 100% into everything he does

Sulaiman chose the most photos and images. Just so many things he wanted to share. And while we went off to eat lunch, he continued working because “I want to.”

Anyway, he’s adorable.
