We had team lunch at L.Table in 1 Utama and it was yummeh. I thought…
Lunch At TEDBOY Bakery In Jaya One Looks Better Than It Tastes
We had lunch at TEDBOY Bakery. All the food looks nicer than it tastes. I doesn’t taste bad. It all looks super a e s t h e t i c. But overall we were disappointed 🙁
Maybe we just ordered the wrong things. The place is really nice though. Here’s the view from the entrance.
And this is the outdoor sitting area. All pretty. Very nice. For the prices they charge, we won’t go again. But it’s an ok once in a lifetime kinda thing haha.
The Food
Sulaiman was super pumped to see mac & cheese on the menu. He immediately knew he wanted it. And once it arrived we all oohed and aahed. But the macaroni was… dry??? Not really cheesy enough. Seemed like the cheese was just that white stuff on the top.
The garlic bread was great though.
Aisha had this sausage, baked beans, scrambled eggs thing. She ate all the eggs, which means they were really simple and fuss-free. Anything overly garnished or too complicated and she’s not interested.
So it was good kiddy food for fussy eaters I suppose.
This was Ayub’s cheese burger. He hated it. The cheese was too much for him. I tasted it. It was like that American processed cheese sauce. You know? It’s nice if you like that kinda thing. Ayub does not like that kind of thing. He finished the crispy chicken patty.
Mr Ninja had the buttermilk chicken with rice. As far as buttermilk chicken goes, this was probably one of the most inauthentic.
He describes it as deep-friend frozen chicken popcorn with a sad sauce that was more milk than butter. Definitely no zing or bite or kick. I ate the salad. It was. Salady.
And this was mine. Eggs Benedict something. It was the most disappointing meal ever. It looks nice. It tastes… ok lah.
Toasted baguette with undressed lettuce, topped with turkey ham and poached eggs. That mayo dressing didn’t help. Nothing worked together. There was no flavour. It was ok.
I was so sad. It tasted so bland. No flavour explosion. No flavour. No.
Pickiest of eaters Aisha finished her eggs. Didn’t touch the rest.
Food: 1/5
The Menu
TEDBOY Bakery’s menu is big. But of the 5 dishes we ordered, we honestly didn’t like any of them haha.
The Ambiance
The ambiance of TEDBOY Bakery is its strength. It looks really pretty. You’ll wanna take pictures here. The food looks pretty too. Unfortunately I don’t look pretty, as hard as Huawei tries. It just ain’t HAPPENING.
Ayub and Ibrahim look adorable huhu.
Red bricks and yellow lights. Lots of space, very comfortable.
Random wall specifically for taking cute pictures of yourself I assume.
I like the ceiling. It has a massive TEDBOY sign all lit up.
It’s good.
Ambiance: 5/5
My tiny KOL
Nobody takes pictures of me *cough cough Mr Ninja sux* so Aisha is my forever KOL.
The Children’s Room
If you have kids and wanna have a nice quiet lunch, TEDBOY Bakery is a top choice because they have a separate children’s room.
It has a kitchen setup and plays movies from a projector onto the wall and lots of toys everywhere.
Sounds great. The kids enjoyed it a lot. But the TEDBOY staff really need to clean up the place, man. It was filthy. Toys all over the floor. I don’t know if they’ve ever vacuumed. Lots of… bits and dirt and ya know, shit, all over the floor. Ick.
And in the main restaurant there are kids tables and chairs, which is cute too.
The Service
The staff are great. Really nice and friendly and helpful.
Service: 5/5
Final Thoughts
Great looking place, great looking food, very expensive, not very tasty, super not worth it imo.
Maybe their pastries and breads are tastier. I hope so.
Overall: 2.5/5
