Pork-Free Pan Mee From Noodle Shack Is My New Favourite Thing

Do you like noodles? I like noodles. Noodles from Noodle Shack are yummy and affordable. I highly recommend them.

Having said that, they aren’t mind-blowingly delicious or exceptional. But if you’re looking for a homey, tasty, simple bowl of hot noodles, then this is the place to go.

The Food

Dry Coriander Flat Noodles

They were SO TASTY. Of course, if you’re one of those people who hates coriander then you won’t like it lah. But I love coriander and this dish is very coriandery lol.

The noodles are made from coriander and the whole dish is topped with generous amounts of the herb. Tender and flavourful!

There’s also mushrooms, chicken, ikan bilis, sweet potato leaves, and beancurd sheets.

Tomot and Jerms ordered this. I didn’t try it. But they were both happy with it. Jerms tried my coriander noodles and said mine was nicer.

Hot & Spicy Flat Noodles

This is kinda like chili pan mee. Maybe it is chili pan mee. But it’s not called chili pan mee. I ate this the first time I came to Noodle Shack. I was very happy. Not too spicy, very nice. But if you want spicy pain kinda noodles, this is not it.

I enjoyed it very much though.

Oh. Here’s a nicer pic.

The Ambiance

It’s a small lil restaurant tucked away close to the basement parking. Clean and simple. I like. No fuss.

The Service

Excellent service. First time I went there was to meet friends for lunch. They said they’d be there in 10 minutes. It ended up being like 40 minutes until they showed up lol.

The restaurant staff let me sit and chill. Then they brought me water like “kakak, you minum dulu ok?” So sweet. Coz I almost got stood up. Sed.

And also. The second time I went with the team and Wan Xiang is vegetarian. Even though they have meatless options, the broth uses ikan bilis so it’s not vegetarian. When Wan Xiang asked if he can tapau food from elsewhere to eat there they said yes.

Then the lady in charge said they can modify a dish special for him. So they did. No meat. Added extra mushrooms. And he didn’t even eat the extra mushrooms. Ish.

Service: 5/5

Final Thoughts

Yummy yummy yummy in my tummy. The kind of food I can have for lunch every day. Coz it’s tasty and not overpowering. You know some food is SO delicious and rich, you can only eat it once in a while?

Noodle shack is not like that.

It’s good, homey, everyday food.
