Sulaiman Gets Glasses At 7 Years Old

Ayub got glasses when he was 6 years old. He was pretty blind and we had absolutely no idea. Poor dude. Mr Ninja and I both don’t wear glasses so it was never something we thought about.

This is the day Ayub got his glasses:

Oh man. We still feel bad about all the times we told him to stop standing in front of the TV, and instead sit down next to us. He couldn’t see. And all the times we asked him what a signboard said because we wanted to help him with reading but he always got it SUPER wrong and we thought he couldn’t recognise the alphabet. He couldn’t see.

Oh no. This is supposed to be a Sulaiman post and it’s been hijacked by Ayub.

He told me he copied the wrong thing down from the whiteboard at school because he couldn’t see the words clearly. RED FLAG.

One of Sulaiman’s favourite things to do is read road signs. So when we went to Penang, Mr Ninja pointed them out to him and he couldn’t read them. RED FLAG.

Brought him to the optometrist. He needs glasses. Got him glasses. Now he can see.

PS. Last year one of Ayub’s lenses popped out of his frames so we had to get them replaced. At the shop, Aisha wanted to try on glasses, so I put a pair on her. When I tried to take them back, she ran out the store.

It was her first time walking. And it was to shoplift.
