We Went On A 3D2N Staycation To Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson (Part 1)

We haven’t been on a family holiday since Penang last year, so this was long overdue. I just wanted a nice, lazy staycation in a fancy hotel where we didn’t have to leave. So the Lexis Hibiscus at Port Dickson was perfect. Short drive. Personal swimming pool in your room. Nice surroundings. Lots of activities at the hotel. The only downside was that the food was… bad.

Waiting to check-in to the Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson

Mr Ninja was all gung-ho to leave the house early and arrive early and check-in early, DESPITE the fact that I called the hotel the day before to ask if we could check-in early and they very politely said no. Check-in is after 3pm. But noooooooooo… Mr Ninja still wanted to reach at like 11am.

Anyway, we left early, arrived early, and couldn’t check-in early. Luckily the hotel grounds are huge and there was lots to keep the kids entertained.

First stop: The children’s playground

Of course the kiddies were super happy to play in the playground. It’s well shaded by the hotel and breezy, so you don’t feel terribly hot. All the usual fittings: swings, slides, see-saws etc. Makes for happy children.

Second stop: Hibiscus Walk and the beach

Next we took a little stroll past the playground to Hibiscus Walk. There’s an inflatable playground but it’s pay per hour entry and not really suitable for little ones. Plus, it was scorching hot.

This was Aisha’s first time at the beach. She loved it very much.

Third stop: Lunch at the hotel

I don’t remember what the restaurant is called. But it’s where breakfast is served. My parents came to have lunch with us. It’s what you expect from a hotel. Silly expensive and mediocre. At least it was tasty and filled us up.

Stop four: The buggy to our room!

Feeling guilty (I assume) for rushing us to reach so early, Mr Ninja disappeared and got us checked in while we had lunch. So right after we were all set to go to our room. The resort is spaced out with separate chalets along a boardwalk shaped like a hibiscus. Although you can walk to your room, it’s can be quite a distance. So we took the buggy.

The kids LOVE the buggy. For the rest of our stay they were always asking to go on the buggy. Especially Aisha, who would exclaim, “BUGI SHO FASSSST!” It’s not that fast.
