Does your kid like the 'Baby Shark' song? Because Aisha loves that song. LOVES. THAT.…
We Went To The International Premiere Of ‘Pinkfong Baby Shark Live Musical’ In Malaysia
I received a random message from my editor Jude who was like, do you wanna go see Pinkfong Baby Shark Live Musical? And I was like, hell no that sounds super boring why would I want to go to that? And she was like, you’re a terrible mother what is wrong with you. So I was like k fine give me the tickets. And so we all went to the international debut of ‘Pinkfong Baby Shark Live Musical’ in Malaysia.
To be honest, I super loved it and was way into all the singing and dancing and audience participation. It was the best. THE BESSSSTTTT.
Driving to KLCC on a Friday evening with three children during a rainstorm to see Baby Shark is as stressful as it sounds
But we survived. Brought chicken nuggets and gummy bears to keep the munchkin happy. She kept asking where Baby Shark was and I totally regretted telling her we were going to see the fella.
Oh, she dressed herself for her big night out:
Our first time in Plenary Hall because we never do stuff like this unless someone else forces us to
Thank you Jude.
The kids were really excited. With the exception of Ayub watching ‘A Tale That Must Be Told: Macbeth‘ earlier this year, this was the first time we were watching a live show as a family. And actually Mr Ninja’s first time watching a live show period. OMG. Poor thing. Baby Shark popped his theatre cherry.
We got our media passes and entered the hall. Why didn’t they give us goodie bags? I would have loved a Baby Shark goodie bag. Haha.
Aisha could not contain her excitement. Before the show started, they played ‘Baby Shark’ on loop, as well as every Baby Shark-endorsed ad, and it was just so Baby Shark. Little girl was bouncing around, swinging her legs, jumping, dancing, twirling.
Watching ‘Pinkfong Baby Shark Live Musical’ in Malaysia
It was AMAZINGGGGG! I loved it. It was soooooo cute and really well done. I mean, they made an entire musical based on the ‘Baby Shark’ song. It was incredible.
Of course, don’t watch it unless you’re there accompanying a child lah. You’ll be super bored as a solo adult. Haha. They sang the ‘Baby Shark’ song like 6 times during the 1-hr+ show. That’s a lot of ‘Baby Shark’.
Baby Shark is the little yellow dude, Daddy Shark is in blue, and the rest are sea creatures
So the premise of the story is that Baby Shark goes looking for friends to play with but all the sea creatures are scared of him. So Daddy Shark goes to find him friends, but Baby Shark swims off instead… to look for friends. Lol.
Daddy Shark freaks out and summons Pinkfong to come rescue Baby Shark.
Pinkfong and some hedgehog-looking-thing and their friends are on a journey to find Baby Shark
We’re only allowed to take pictures during the first three songs so I can’t show you anything else. But trust me, it was super duper cool. The CAST, the sets, the background, all the singing and dancing and choreography. Oh man. Super cute.
And if you’re a Pinkfong binge-watcher like Aisha, then you’ll recognise a lot of the songs.
The kids were completely captivated… for the most part
The boys were so into the show, especially Ayub, he loves the theatre. They sang, they danced, they shouted at Daddy Shark, they pointed to the right directions… lots of audience participation stuff like that. Oh, there was a Mexican wave moment. Ayub was really serious about getting that right. So fun.
Aisha was kinda into it. She mostly looked really confused and in awe. Her face was like O.O the whole time. Then during the climax of the show when Baby Shark was trapped in a coral reef and everyone was working together to get him out (audience included), she turned around and fell asleep haha.
Then the entire cast came to the audience to dance and sing and say hi
There was a big finale and then it was over. Such a lovely evening. <3
Oh yeah, Jaclyn Victor was there with her family and she looked beautiful. That’s all.
