My Favourite Seafood Place In Port Dickson Is Restoran Chardin Sea View
Restoran Chardin Sea View in Port Dickson doesn’t look like much but the food is AMAZING. Mr Ninja, the kids, and I really really LOVE it so much. And it’s very affordable too.
We ordered a whole fish (talapia I think?), nestum prawns, butter squid, mushrooms and broccoli, oyster omelette, rice, and drinks… and it came up to RM75. It was so much food we asked for takeaway and ate the leftovers the next day in the hotel. (We stayed at the Grand Lexis Port Dickson ;))
Anyway, Mr Ninja says the restaurant is halal but they serve alcohol.
The Food
The food is so good. I love it so much. I don’t know if you’ll love it, but I super love it. Everything was cooked perfectly, flavours were popping, squid was tender, prawns were juicy. Mmmmm!
I apologise for all the terrible photos. The baby was clingy and the kids were hungry. Haha.
Oyster Omelette
Lots of plump oysters in this very simple, tasty egg omelette.
Buttermilk squid
Couldn’t take a photo fast enough. This dish was the first to finish. The two boys whacked everything. It was our favourite. Creamy, salty, with a little crunch and a little heat from the cili padi. 10/10 recommend.
Nestum prawns
Another big hit. Aisha is sucha fussy eater, she had nothing but white rice and the crunchy nestum bits. There was so much that we tapau it back to the hotel and snacked on the nestum bits later. Addictive af.
Mushroom broccoli
Delicious.
River talapia (I really don’t remember what sauce Mr Ninja ordered)
But it was AMAZING. Maybe it’s asam pedas. Or tiga rasa. Lima rasa? I don’t know. My favourite thing of the night. I could eat this every day forever.
Yeah. So all that plus 5 bowls of white rice, 5 drinks, and all those complimentary snacks (peanuts, chips etc), came up to RM75.
That’s cheap right? I feel like it’s super cheap. Can’t get that much seafood in KL for that price.
Food: 5/5 (so worth it!)
The Menu
Nah, see by yourself. Lots of pages. Lots of options.
The aquarium thingies
I’m not a fan of these things, though I understand the importance of the seafood being as fresh as possible. Mr Ninja cannot look in the tanks because he feels kesian then he cannot eat.
Anyway, we ate that river talapia behind Sulaiman haha. RM58/kilo.
There are also crabs and lobsters and grouper and other fish. I don’t know how to order, I only know how to eat.
The Ambiance
The place is really tacky and ugly. I think they do weddings there. Hmm…
The last time we went was 6 years ago and it was as ugly then as it was 2 weeks ago. I don’t see it changing anytime soon.
But the view of the sea makes up for it <3
Ambiance: 1/5
The Service
Ok lah. The waiters are friendly and helpful. The food arrived at a normal speed. No complaints. The food was delicious and that was the main thing.
Service: 3/5
Final Thoughts
Yes.
I’ve eaten in lots of places in Port Dickson. But this place is my favourite. It’s ugly and unassuming. But the food tastes delicious.
Overall: 4/5
